Our organised Ecotrip to Poland is a big success. Check out some photographs on the Gallery page.
As part of the trip, Tourism Pure delivered a seminar on Ecotourism to Polish National Parks and Wildlife personnel and to local tourism providers (accommodation, tour guides, etc.). See a short video clip here. See some photos from the seminar here. This evening event instilled an important element of cross-cultural education and interaction into our schedule.
Our first days were spent hiking in the Biebrza National Park, most notably the Red Marsh Reserve, a haven for elk, wolf and some lynx. Our guide, author of a multi-lingual guide to Biebrza, brought this place to life with all his educational content. He took on board our suggestions to make the trip even more eco-friendly in a co-operative and responsive manner. We followed this by visiting the Strict Reserve of Bialowieza National Park, straddling the Belarussian border. The primeval feel of this forest is one never to be forgotten. Hardly touched by man, the forest is a truly unique location for walking and breathing in life as it once was.
